my anniversary present....

For our actual anniversary this year we were not even in the same state. So we did not celebrate or exchange presents. But Eddie did tell me that he owed me a present once I got home.

Well once I got home he was really serious about getting rid of the Ford ( it was his ford F150 that he drove). We had been talking about getting rid of it for the past 9 month but I kept saying NO cause it was the nicest car we owned LOL. But he did not want it anymore and it was just sucking up the gas so I finally agreed. So we decided that we should just get a little put put car that he could drive to and from work and in 2 years we would get me a new car. So we looked and looked and had a few choice words with a couple of car dealers in town. ( i swear they think they have gold mines in this town cause competition is not big here but it still does not mean I want to pay an arm and a leg for a piece of CRAP). Anyways, we finally decided to just get a brand new or slightly used Honda - a 2 door civic. We found some in Reno and off he and Chance went to do some wheeling and dealing.
When they came home this is what they drove up with this .....

I was shocked - still am a little. Eddie decided that it was my turn for a new car since I have been driving my accord for 10 years ( yeah it has been 10 years since we bought it) So this little CRV became my anniversary present. Now he is going to drive my old beat up accord. I like it, it drives just like me little car. I had wanted something a littler higher up off the road and something with a little more trunk space so I can pile the groceries up high. The back seats fold down in a couple different configurations so that will be good when I have the kids with me when I shop too. I have already ordered my custom seat covers for the back seats. I HAVE to have them with Dallen he is a messy Marvin!! I was going to order them for the front too but the sales lady at Honda told me that the side curtain airbags have sensors in the front seats so I don't want to block them. So I am going to wait a little bit on those and see if they come out with a seat cover that will work alongside the airbags. Now just need to find a place to get the windows tinted for a good deal and get some all weather floor mats ( at least before the winter hits) and we will be good to go.

Now that we have 4 cats we have seen no mice!! Eddie has actually seen all of them catching a mouse at one time or another - so we know that they are earning their keep around here.

And Fire Season Begins

While sitting in my scraproom, I realized that I kept smelling smoke. So I looked out side and yep you can not see the sky it is filled with smoke. No flames though, that is good! So I get on the California wildfire website to see if it will tell where this thing is at and if we need to start watching for it to come over the mountain. And this is what I get.... Lassen-Modoc Unit: 50 fires for a total of 25-40 acres.

Yikes that is a lot of little fires. But I don't think it is anywhere near the point of starting to worry.

My little peanut has an earache. He looks just like Lance and acts like him quite often but I think he might have Uncle Bubby's ears. He gets a lot of ear infections none of them are one right after another so I don't really worry about it but dang he gets a lot and once he gets them BAM they are full blast really fast. He wants to go to the Doctors but of course it is Sunday at 8 and all that is open is the ER and I am not going there! So I guess we will have to take him in the morning.

Ed got all our wood for the winter cut, split and stacked this week! He has been working on it all month and we ( well he) is finally done. It goes all the way down the side of the garage for 3 rows and it is 6 rows deep on the backside. This pic sure makes the garage look junky LOL we need to reside it one day to match the house but I don't think that is going to happen this summer. No way are we moving all that wood!!!

Here are some pics of Abby's baptism they are not that good cause it was inside and I just never get great pics inside - hopefully Nan will share her pics with me - Hint Hint....

Cupcake Pops

While in Utah Mindy introduced me to Bakerella. This Bakerella girl has been featured on Martha and many other places with her little baked treats. So we gave the Cupcake Pops a try. Mom and I tried making them for Abby's baptism. They were not too easy but not so hard that you want to chuck them out the window either.

This is how ours turned out not too bad you can still tell what they are supposed to be. I am thinking about making some for the 2 girls I visit teach this week. She also has a good looking peanut butter cake recipe that I want to try.

I forgot to upload pics of miss Ella and the kids

Our trip

We are back from our trip to Idaho and Utah. I am currently uploading all my pics - I took quite a few ( as usual) so I will post a few once they are all uploaded.

For our trip the kids and I went with Granny and Grampy to see baby Marlee in Idaho. She is cute we are thinking she may look a little like Dallen. Which as we all know looks just like Lance ( my youngest brother) . If Marlee looks like him too and his kids end up looking like Adrienne I am totally going to laugh, but it will be a long time till we will have the opportunity to see what his kids end up looking like.

anyways, we went to Driggs and visited the whole Stewart clan.
Sunday we checked out their new house that is being built - It will be really nice for them to have a basement with a playroom to hide all the kids toys in I am slightly jealous of that.

Monday we went to Jackson Hole and then Yosemite - ha ha ha I mean Yellowstone ( i kept getting the darn name wrong) We saw lots of Buffalo! We even got so close once so that I could open the van door and take pictures he he he We also saw a moose and some ducks but no bears and no elk. We went to Old Faithful and the stink pots ( Callie did not like the stink pots LOL she thought they smelled horrible)

Tuesday we did the whole town of Driggs thing - they have some cute shops there but they are really over priced. But that comes with living in a small resort town. There grocery store has some nice features that we don't have here... namely the guy who makes fresh sushi everyday - I wish we had that here!!!

Wednesday it snowed on us not too bad just the stuff that falls and melts so the kids had to stay in that day - we did some more shopping in Driggs too cause Claira needed some pants. she only wore them for a few hours and then complained about them - nice huh and i spent 40 bucks on those suckers more than I would even spend on myself.

Thursday we went to IF ( other wise known as Idaho Falls) we went to lunch and did a little shopping we found Down East Outfitters - Deffantly wish they had one here! It is discounted clothing and furniture from places like Pottery Barn and American eagle J crew that kind of store. Found a coffee table I really liked but I could not fit it in the car the kids would have had to be strapped to the roof, oh well. Then we left the Stewart's and headed to Utah. - I cryed and cryed leaving Michelle, It is really hard for me living so far away from her seeing my girls once a year just does not cut the mustard!

Friday we did the whole Utah thing- We planned out the places we wanted to see and Mindy was our navigator. We went to a really cool store which i can not remember what it is called and I spent a butt load there getting little things for the house- my fav being my chickens for the yard. ( pic to come later) We went to another Down East and found more cute furniture but still not enough room in the car for the kids if we bought it so no new furniture. Then we went to a big fabric store so mom could buy fabric for a quilt she is making to go in the family room - Mindy and I made that fun by making fun of the fabric choices there some that you would only find in Utah ( One day I am going to make Mindy a " I love to see the temple" blanket LOL) Then off to Cachet Candles - we got to see where there home office is - and yes we brought home candles I have all the new scents on hand now!! Then we went to crown burger and had lunch. Then off to the Salt Lake Temple, Conference Center and Joseph Smith building. Afterwords we went to a store called "everything bunt cake" but they were closed ( Dallen was really disappointed he wanted a bunt cake) Then we went to the mall for more shopping- we got some deals there too.

Saturday we got in the car and headed back to Sac Town. On the way we saw a car show so Dad Dallen and I walked through it for a bit while Granny and Claira waited in the car. Once we got home to sac we went to dinner with Lance and Adrienne at Boudinns yummy

Sunday was Abby's christening/ baptism and afterwords there was a BBQ at David's. That was fun sitting around being goofy with all the cousins and aunts and uncles. afterwords the kids and I called Britt and went to see baby Ellaree - she is already so big she def has a round head just like Claira did. Dallen really liked holding her.

Monday we came home - we stopped in Reno and Harmony did my nails I think they turned out really cute. Soon after we left her she was rear ended the girl just has no luck it is like she is a magnet they always seem to sun into her ( and no it is not her fault LOL ) but she is OK

so busy busy vacation - now we are home and trying to recover - it does not really help when you have to work everyday but oh well I have to get some cash now that I spent everything I had on my trip LOL

I call blogging that!!!

So we were sitting at he table tonight ( I am at my parents) and my SIL was going to BJ's for dessert and so my Mom says "Oh everyone needs a BJ on Saturdays" ( and you know what she meant by it) my SIL and I both yelled "EWWW" we were totally grossed out so I said "I call blogging that..." Cause I know some families have to say who is going to blog about the same event so I called this one. We were soooo grossed out so I knew that it would be something worth sharing So are any of you grossed out !?! How would you like your mother to say that???

yes and now she will die cause I posted that HEHEHE

So in a couple hours we are off to Idaho. We really should be in bed but we are waiting up for my brother to arrive ( it is not the only reason we are up - they always stay up really late at this house) He is driving up cause he was home alone and rumor has it he has a new motorcycle that he is driving up so my Mom is freaking out a little. If ya ask me which your not but who cares it is my blog LOL so you don't need to ask.... but if you ask me I don't like those darn things I just feel like you are so unprotected on them but to each his own - unless you are my husband cause I have say over everything he does LOL - he had a cycle but I think he realized how dangerous it was going to work one morning and so he got rid of it.

So tomorrow is our 14 hours in the car woo hoo I am so excited for that ( NOT) but at least I get to see my new niece.

I made a badge album for my nieces Abby and Marlee and I forgot to print out one family member I am so ticked at least i can print it out later but I tried so hard to make sure I was uploading everything and I still forgot one page. Once I get back home I will share some of the pages they turned out really cute - i used the badge album templates from Mrs. Wresh and I used the Digiscraps Skip ABC kit for the papers and embellishments.

Tomorrow is my anniversary ( well since it is after 12 it is today) we have officially been married 12 years! yep you read that right 12 years! As you can tell we are not going to be celebrating together but what can ya do... Sorry No sappy love stories from me tonight LOL maybe another time.

well my brother is here now so off to bed we go.... OK wait that sounds bad.... now we can all go to sleep .

it's the post that never ends.....

lets go backwards this time and start with today ....

well today after church I went to town to drop off some stuff that my friend Melanie had me pick up for her in Reno. While I was there she was having a garage sale. Now Melanie used to work for potery barn/ williamsonoma so she has some really good stuff. So I got portions of this...I got the calender, the chalk board, the cork board and the letter organizer. I also bought a huge box of Lego's ( like way huge) all for 20 bucks!!!!!! I knew it was a score but until I went to post a pic I did not realize how big of a score. She also had some other PB stuff to sell 2 lamps which neither one would go in my house but one would work in bub's I think I have even seen it there. (sorry I checked the website for pics but no pics of the actual lamps she has for sale - or the cool bedding (boy bedding)) So now I just have to decide where to hang my new treasure up at.

Eddie got the kids water toys for doing good in school - he got them a butt load of water balloons a slip n slide and a flat of Gatorade and some stuff for the pool ( which he is going to put together this week for them) So today they did the slip n slide. They thought it was the coolest thing ever Dallen loved it so did claira but she did not slide as far cause she was not as daring when she slid. They got cold real quick though cause we have well water which comes out of the ground butt cold - which is fine in the middle of a hot day but not today when the wind is out. So they did not play too long so no pics.

OK i think i have to break now - i really should make dinner and get lunch packed for tomorrow- I'll finish later

Friday I went to the Wilbur D May Museum in Reno with Dallen's class. The parents that came to help had to drive their own cars there was not room on the bus so I did some of my grocery shopping while I was there. I got most of it done but I am sure I will need stuff half way thru the month. While we were at the museum all the kids had the chance to hold a snake if they wanted to. Of course Dallen wanted to ....

I however did not get close at all.
that afternoon my Sister had her baby.... Marlee ( I have always been spelling it Marley i need to change that on Abby's baptism present) anyways you can see pick of her and all her birth stats on my sisters blog here I can not wait to see her.
Thursday - I got my hair cut - my stylist forgot to schedule me for highlights so i ended up just getting a cut and wow that is sooooo much cheaper LOL - I got 2 inches cut off so it is right at my shoulders now - I was going to take a pic since on the day you go to the salon it always looks 10 times better but I got sidetracked in the afternoon. Sean came over again and hung out with Eddie for the afternoon, so I just kinda hung out on the puter and got nothing accomplished - which drives me nuts as my mom knows when things are messy i get really sick to my stomach feeling and i get very agitated can you say OCD? So after dinner when nothing had gotten done all day my emotions were all over the place. I had the kids come in and take showers and get in their pj's and then sent them back outside to get the cats. Well they could not find them..... So then I went to look..... and then Eddie came to look.... and still nothing we looked everywhere up the street and down I even called Sean to have him make sure they were not in his car or smooshed under his car. We searched and searched and could not find them. I knew they were gone and I started to cry.... Eddie asked me why I was crying and then it was all over I began to Bawl and I Bawled and Bawled for 2 hours and then finally fell asleep. I heard him go back outside a few hours later and call them ( shotgun always came when you would call him and then Gray-C would come after him cause they never left each others side.) But nothing. The next morning I got up early and went outside and looked but nothing I knew they would not have made it through the night out here. So we went on to school. When we got home Shotgun was in the bathroom ( that is were they stay when we are not home) Carol our mail lady had found him down at the mailboxes when she was delivering the mail and brought him down to us. Eddie was just leaving for work and saw Carol going down the road so he flipped around to make sure she did not have any mail for us cause she never comes down out road good thing he did cause she was not sure if it was ours or not but said it was way too friendly to be a wild cat. That afternoon the kids and I rode the Quad down to the mail boxes and looked all around for Grey-C but we could not find her. We were really glad to have Shotgun back but sad that we could not find miss Grey-C. So we are sure that she is up in Kitty Heaven now. Shotgun cried and cried for her all night Friday night, it was horrible. He is doing better now but he is way more clingy to us he does not leave our side in the house or outside.
well I think that is all - we are off to meet granny in the morning to go to Coloma...
